Verse 1

طَلَعَ البَدْرُ عَلَيْنَا
مِنْ ثَنِيَّاتِ الوَدَاعِ

Ṭala'al badru 'alaynā
min thaniyyātil wadā'i

The full moon rose over us
from the valleys of farewell

Verse 2

وَجَبَ الشُّكْرُ عَلَيْنَا
مَا دَعَا لِلَّهِ دَاعِ

Wajabash shukru 'alaynā
mā da'ā lillāhi dā'i

Gratitude is incumbent upon us
as long as any caller calls to Allah

Chorus

أَيُّهَا المَبْعُوثُ فِينَا
جِئْتَ بِالأَمْرِ المُطَاعِ

Ayyuhal mab'ūthu fīnā
ji'ta bil amril muṭā'i

O you who was sent among us
you came with the command to be obeyed

Verse 1

يَا نَبِي سَلَامٌ عَلَيْكَ
يَا رَسُول سَلَامٌ عَلَيْكَ

Yā Nabī salāmun 'alayk
Yā Rasūl salāmun 'alayk

O Prophet, peace be upon you
O Messenger, peace be upon you

Verse 2

يَا حَبِيب سَلَامٌ عَلَيْكَ
صَلَوَاتُ اللهِ عَلَيْكَ

Yā Ḥabīb salāmun 'alayk
ṣalawātullāhi 'alayk

O Beloved, peace be upon you
the blessings of Allah be upon you

Verse 1

مَوْلَايَ صَلِّ وَسَلِّمْ دَائِمًا أَبَدًا
عَلَى حَبِيبِكَ خَيْرِ الخَلْقِ كُلِّهِمِ

Mawlāya ṣalli wa sallim dā'iman abadā
'alā ḥabībika khayril khalqi kullihimi

My Lord, bestow Your blessings and peace forever
upon Your Beloved, the best of all creation

Verse 2

مُحَمَّدٌ سَيِّدُ الكَوْنَيْنِ وَالثَّقَلَيْنِ
وَالفَرِيقَيْنِ مِنْ عُرْبٍ وَمِنْ عَجَمِ

Muḥammadun sayyidul kawnayn waththaqalayn
walfarīqayni min 'urbin wa min 'ajami

Muhammad, master of the two worlds and the two weighty things
and of the two groups — Arabs and non-Arabs
